Whether it’s fair or not, French companies don’t generally have a reputation for dynamism, but credit to Pernod Ricard for scooping No.2 spot in the beverage sphere on the Forbes list, despite slipping from #15 overall in 2012 to #20.
The firm – a holding company with active subsidiaries such as The Absolut Company – is active across whiskies, aniseed spirits, liqueurs, cognacs and brandies, white spirits and rums, bitters, champagnes and wines.
Top brands include Absolut, Ricard, Havana Club, The Glenlivet, Chivas Regal, Perrier-Jouet.
