Although it is primarily a foodservice (cafe-led) brand, Starbucks has branched out into selling retail products, and Interbrand said the chain had revamped its strategy over the past year.
Juice bars, blonde roast coffee, alcohol even, live entertainment and savory food had all been trialed in some US locations, in an apparently “effective response to McDonald’s efforts to appeal to more coffee drinkers," the analysts wrote.
“Where Starbucks really shines, however, is in engaging its customers and improving their online and in-store experiences,” Interbrand added.
