It is the first time the craft beer has entered the UK market and is available on tap in bars and restaurants.
Trilogy selected Petainer to transport its beer from South America where it is brewed in Santiago before being shipped to the UK in Petainer’s one-way petainerKeg.
petainerKeg is an alternative to traditional steel kegs. The journey takes six to eight weeks.
“Due to the significant geographical challenges involved, we had to find a reliable partner who could provide technical support and ensure product quality in terms of taste and shelf-life,” said Darius Burrows, managing director, Trilogy Beverage Brands.
“Petainer’s lower total cost of ownership has made it commercially viable to ship draught beer from Chile and introduce the Rothhammer brand to British consumers.”
Spain & Portugal
Petainer is a UK-based company which has production plants in Sweden and the Czech Republic, blowing facilities in North America, Russia, India and Australia, and sales offices in Sweden, the Czech Republic, Germany, the US and UK.
Craig Pope, sales director, Petainer said the growth of craft beer is a huge opportunity for the company and it is delighted to work with Trilogy with petainerKeg.
BeverageDaily recently reported the company had seen growing demand for its PET packaging from micro and craft brewers in Spain and Portugal. It appointed two local distributors for its petainerKEG; Dani Vall in Spain and Pedro Crispim in Portugal.
Petainer also has an online shop for smaller breweries. Brewers can choose, purchase and take delivery of their kegs in three to four days. There is also a petainerKeg App for instructions on correct use with Well-Type Fitting (S and D type with no pressure release valve) and with Flat-Type Fitting (A type with no pressure release valve) to be launched soon.
