Customers of Alcan's plastic bottle business have been put on
notice that the company plans to sell the unit as part of an
ongoing restructuring of its food packaging operations.
Alcan has acquired the assets of Parkside's flexible food packaging
plant in Zlotow, Poland in order to increase its presence in a
growing and competitive economy.
Alcan has announced that the provisional results of its offer for
French packaging group Pechiney, as disclosed by the French stock
market authority AMF, indicate that Alcan has secured 92.21 per
cent of Pechiney's total share...
The European Commission has given clearance under merger
regulations to the proposed acquisition of French aluminium
producer Pechiney by Alcan of Canada.
Alcan has confirmed further details of the acquisition of shares in
the Flexible Packaging Division of Hydro Aluminium Deutschland.
This will allow the company to expand its European operations and
penetrate the Asian market.
Alcan, the Canadian-based beverage packaging provider, has signed a
letter of intent to sell its moulded glass operations in the US and
China to the US-based Glass Group.
