Diageo: Dayalan Nayager and Nuno Teles
Dayalan Nayager, currently Managing Director, Diageo GB, has been appointed President, Diageo Africa. Nuno Teles, currently President of the Diageo Beer Company (DBC) in North America, is appointed as Managing Director of Great Britain and will report to John Kennedy, President Europe and India. The changes will take place 1 July 2022.
Dayalan was appointed Managing Director for GB in 2019. Under Dayalan’s leadership, there has been a ‘bold innovation and business development strategy’, including acquisitions of The Chase Distillery, Seedlip and the Santiago de Cuba joint venture. Dayalan has built a more inclusive and diverse business in GB, with gender equality across the total employee population and women making up 70% of leadership roles.
Nuno Teles joined Diageo in March 2018. Prior to joining Diageo, Nuno was with Heineken for 15 years, leading transformational commercial strategies in multiple countries and regions, including the USA, Brazil, and Europe. Since taking on the role as President of the Diageo Beer Company (DBC) Nuno has been instrumental in the transformation of the business and its culture. Under Nuno’s leadership, the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore has become the number one taproom in America, with the Chicago taproom due to open in 2023 and during his time in North America, there has been an increase in female representation by 21% over the last year.
