Connecticut-based NutriScience Innovations, LLC is offering caffeine from tea leaves as a natural alternative for manufacturers with an energy source to accommodate the ever increasing demand for naturally derived products.

The highly soluble InnovaTea Natural Caffeine 95% ingredient can be easily added to beverages and dietary supplements, said the company, and is derived from tea leaves that are carefully grown without the use of pesticides and have full traceability back to the farm where grown.

According to the US Food & Drug Administration, a safe amount of caffeine is 400 milligrams a day -  equivalent to about four or five cups of coffee. A recent FDA report found that the average daily caffeine intake of the US adult population was 300 mg in 2008; with over 66% of that amount coming from coffee drinking.
