when, following our visit to the Health Ingredients Japan trade show, we reported on the growth in the market for salmon placenta as an anti-ageing ingredient.
In neighbouring China, it was revealed that over half of official food inspections had failed over the last three months, although the authorities had increased the number of checks they had conducted on the back of several food safety scandals.
We also looked at the rise of China’s coffee culture, where the dark brew is fast catching up in spite of tea’s dominant position in the hot drinks market (pictured).
