Tetra Pak has released Tetra Brik Aseptic 1890 ml Slim and Tetra
Brik Aseptic 2000 ml Slim packages, the largest packages to be
launched in the Tetra Brik Aseptic range.

The development comes in response to consumer demands for both value-for-money packaging and greater convenience. The cartons feature the SlimCap, a resealable screw cap closure by Tetra Pak.

Tetra Pak claims that the sizes - 2-litre mainly for the European market and 1,890 ml mainly for Northern American markets - are ideal for producers packaging juice and still drinks and in the US market in particular, soya and rice-based beverages.

These products are identified as occupying the premium-end of the drinks market, where to compete it is important to offer health-oriented and non-dairy consumers a package that protects the product after opening.

Tetra Pak also believes that the large size of the cartons make them suitable for those operating in the food service and catering industries.

In addition, the SlimCap opening for the Tetra Brik Aseptic 1890 Slim and Tetra Brik Aseptic 2000 Slim packages has been specially designed to ensure optimal opening, pouring and reclosing of these large-size packages. Like similar SlimCap openings, it can be resealed and therefore does not leak when stored horizontally or shaken upside down.

Tetra Pak claims that in panel tests, consumers found the SlimCap concept to be very straightforward both to open and pour from. The company also says that consumers like the fact that there is a ring-pull and pull-tab, which provide increased assurance that the package has not been tampered with.

Efficient distribution protective cardboard wraparound boxes are available for the products. As with other Tetra Pak packages, the cartons are easy to dispose of and are fully recyclable even with the opening applied.

Both packages are available on the new Tetra Pak A3/Flex packaging line, which the company claims offers customers the latest in packaging line technology. All Tetra Pak A3/Flex packaging lines for TBA 2000 S and TBA 1890 S come with a QuickChange feature as standard, allowing customers to change between the two packages in less than 15 minutes.

Tetra Pak says that the flexibility offered by Tetra Pak A3/Flex can increase manufacturer's return on investment by allowing them to change between a variety of packages as and when they need to.
