United Caps to acquire Closures4you plastic closures division

The takeover will see the design of a new closure to replace any previous products and is part of United Caps' growth strategy.

'Strategic plan'

The company acquired Dewit Plastics caps, closures and handles business in June and with Closures4you it wants to ensure future market supply from its plant in Schwerin, Germany.

Benoît Henckes, CEO, United Caps, said the acquisition was part of a ‘strategic step’.

“United Caps is driving forward the modernization of its product portfolio​,” he said.

“In accordance with the principle ‘less is more’, we are working to restrict product complexity within our portfolio as much as possible while still offering first class closures for all PET and glass bottles​.”

Dewit Plastics is a thermoforming and injection molding company located in Schoten, Belgium.

Its portfolio includes screw, tamper-evident and child-resistant closures and handles for large containers.

To ensure a smooth transition regarding customer supply, Closures4you will make its closure capacities available through to the end of March 2018.

Cups4you

Cups4you, the former parent company of Closures4you, is based in Oss, the Netherlands.

It is the European specialist for thin-wall injection molded packaging with a capacity of 100ml to 2500ml for the food industry.

United Caps is headquartered in Wiltz, Luxembourg with production sites in Belgium, Germany, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Spain and Hungary.

The firm employs more than 500 staff and achieved sales of €131m in 2016.
