Niagara Bottling closes Washington plant lays off 73 staff

Private label bottled water supplier Niagara Bottling plans to close its site in Burlington, Washington making 73 workers redundant, according to the US Employment Security Department (ESD).

The ESD received notice of the closure last Friday and released the news as a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN).

Family owned Niagara Bottling began in 1963 and claims to be the largest private label bottled water supplier in the US, with 15 plants across the States including the Washington site.

According to the company’s website it plans to open two more, in Georgia and Wisconsin, in 2014.
