BASF and Monsanto withdraw GM applications
BASF and Monsanto both stopped seeking approval for genetically modified (GM) crops in Europe in 2013. After a decade of research and investment, BASF said it would no longer pursue regulatory approval for three potato varieties in the European Union, citing uncertainties in the regulatory environment.
And in July, Monsanto said it would pull pending applications for four GM crops in the EU.
