From premium spirits and craft soft drinks to wine and rum, brands are using flavour innovation, provenance and limited editions to drive interest across multiple beverage categories

The latest wave of beverage launches highlights how producers are responding to demand for more distinctive flavours, premium experiences and stronger brand storytelling. Across categories, companies are looking to stand out through ingredient quality, production expertise and carefully targeted retail rollouts.

Flavour remains a major growth driver, with brands introducing new offerings designed to appeal to consumers seeking both familiarity and novelty. From fruit-led profiles to barrel maturation and richer wine styles, innovation continues to shape purchasing decisions.

Premiumisation also remains a defining trend. Producers are emphasising craft credentials, provenance and production methods to create differentiation in increasingly competitive spirits, wine and soft drinks markets.

At the same time, partnerships, limited editions and strategic distribution agreements are helping brands extend their reach. New launches are targeting both retail and hospitality channels as businesses look to capture demand across multiple drinking occasions.

DropWorks Rum is expanding its limited-edition Distiller’s Drop series with the launch of Distiller’s Drop #003 – American Oak Smoked Cask, a British rum finished in Scotch whisky casks. Available from October, the release is limited to 550 bottles. The rum was matured for 29 months in American oak, before one-third of the liquid was transferred to Scotch whisky octave casks for finishing. The release continues the producer’s exploration of alternative maturation techniques and cask finishes to develop distinctive flavour profiles in British-made rum.

The latest launch follows two previous releases that utilised English chestnut and Bordeaux red wine casks respectively, both of which received recognition at industry awards. According to founder and master distiller Lewis Hayes, Distiller’s Drop #003 delivers notes of golden toffee popcorn, spiced gingerbread and a smoky finish. Hayes said the blend combines rum matured in American oak with whisky cask-finished rum, adding cherry and whisky-inspired characteristics while maintaining a profile suited to both sipping and cocktails.

The limited-edition release complements the company’s permanent portfolio of Barrel Drop, Clear Drop, Dark Drop, Funk Drop and Spice Drop. Based in Nottinghamshire’s Sherwood Forest, DropWorks ferments, distils, matures and bottles all of its rum at its own distillery, with an annual production capacity of 1.5 million bottles. Its rum is currently served at venues including The Ivy Brasserie, The Clove Club and Moor Hall, as well as more than a third of the UK’s top 50 cocktail bars.

MOMO x Natoora

MOMO Kombucha collaboration release alongside fresh produce.
MOMO Kombucha continues to build its seasonal collaboration strategy within the premium soft drinks category. (MOMO)

MOMO Kombucha has partnered with produce specialist Natoora to launch a limited-edition Passion Fruit Kombucha, adding to its portfolio of seasonal collaborative releases. Now available, the organic kombucha combines MOMO’s raw kombucha with passion fruit sourced from Spanish grower Amadora, a fourth-generation farmer based in Seville. The product has received Great Taste Award recognition and is certified organic by the Soil Association.

The launch also supports Natoora’s Farm Fund, which aims to help the next generation of farmers develop more sustainable agricultural practices. The passion fruit used in the drink is allowed to ripen fully on the vine before naturally falling into collection nets, a growing method that Natoora says delivers a sweeter, less acidic and more aromatic fruit compared with commercially harvested alternatives. The resulting kombucha is positioned as a sweet-and-sour tropical serve designed to balance the fruit’s natural sweetness with the acidity and live cultures of traditionally brewed kombucha.

Founded by husband-and-wife team Josh and Lisa Puddle, London-based MOMO Kombucha produces raw kombucha using organic teas and slow-pressed juices. The business has built a track record of collaborative and seasonal releases, working previously with brands and organisations including GANNI, Natoora, Orbit Beers, Caravan Coffee Roasters and Tate Modern. Passion Fruit Kombucha will be available through MOMO’s direct-to-consumer channel as well as Natoora, GAIL’s Bakery, Whole Foods Market, Planet Organic, Selfridges, Ocado and Zapp, with an RRP of £4.50 per 330ml bottle.

GREY GOOSE has expanded its flavoured vodka portfolio in the UK with the launch of Berry Rouge, its biggest flavour extension in more than a decade. Available from October 5, the expression will be stocked by Tesco as its exclusive UK grocery retail partner, alongside listings with Amazon and Selfridges, and distribution across selected premium on-trade venues.

The launch follows strong performance in the US, France and Global Travel Retail, where Berry Rouge has become the top-performing flavoured variant in the GREY GOOSE range. In France, the product reached the number-two position by value in the super-premium flavoured vodka category across the on- and off-trade within four months of launch. The launch comes as flavoured vodka continues to gain traction in the UK, particularly within the super-premium spirits segment.

Made without added sugar, preservatives or colouring, Berry Rouge combines natural essences of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries sourced from the Mediterranean with GREY GOOSE’s winter wheat spirit and spring water. The resulting vodka is designed to deliver a fruit-forward profile with balanced sweetness and a clean finish. The brand is positioning the new product as a versatile option for both at-home and on-trade consumption. Suggested serves include spritzes, martinis and simple mixed drinks, with the Berry Blossom as its signature serve.

De Bortoli Buttery

De Bortoli Wines is targeting demand for richer, more approachable Chardonnay styles.

De Bortoli Wines is targeting consumers seeking richer, more indulgent Chardonnay styles with the UK launch of its 2025 Buttery Chardonnay. The wine is available nationwide through ASDA and has secured a Gold medal at the 2026 Drinks Business Chardonnay Masters.

The Chardonnay combines ripe peach and melon flavours with notes of butterscotch, with malolactic fermentation and oak maturation used to build texture and weight while maintaining freshness. The result is a smooth, creamy palate with a lingering finish.

According to winemaker Joel Veenhuizen, the aim was to create a Chardonnay that delivers the richness and texture expected from the grape, without sacrificing balance. The wine is positioned as both an accessible standalone option and a food-pairing choice, suited to dishes including roast chicken, seafood and creamy pasta.

The launch adds another premium New World Chardonnay to the UK retail market, with the 2025 Buttery Chardonnay available exclusively through ASDA stores across the UK.
