Beverage innovation continues to be shaped by consumer demand for products that deliver more than simple refreshment. Functional ingredients, lower sugar formulations and premium positioning are increasingly influencing new product development across both alcoholic and non-alcoholic categories.
Several of the latest launches demonstrate how manufacturers are blending established beverage traditions with contemporary wellness trends. From fermentation-led concepts and gut-health propositions to products incorporating vitamins, minerals and other functional ingredients, brands are seeking new ways to differentiate in crowded markets.
Alcohol moderation also remains a major driver of innovation, with producers investing in premium non-alcoholic alternatives that aim to replicate the structure, flavour and drinking experience of their full-strength counterparts. The category continues to expand across beer, wine and hybrid beverage formats.
Meanwhile, ready to drink (RTD) producers are exploring new flavour territories and premiumisation opportunities, drawing inspiration from global cuisines, tea culture, mixology and advanced ageing techniques. Together, the launches underscore an industry focused on delivering novelty, convenience and added value to consumers.
Theakston Hopbucha

Theakston Brewery and Equinox Kombucha have partnered to launch Hopbucha, an alcohol-free fermented drink that combines kombucha brewing with traditional beer-making expertise.
The product blends Equinox’s kombucha base, fermented using its SCOBY culture, with hop flavours developed using Theakston’s brewing expertise, creating a drink aimed at consumers seeking adult-oriented no-alcohol alternatives.
The UK launch comes as demand continues to grow for premium no- and low-alcohol beverages. Hopbucha is designed to offer the live cultures associated with kombucha alongside the flavour profile and refreshment expected from a hopped beer-style drink. The companies say the product balances kombucha’s fermented character with citrus bitterness and hop notes intended to appeal to both kombucha drinkers and beer consumers.
Equinox managing director Andy Braithwaite said the project began as an experiment to combine the strengths of two Yorkshire brewers with shared fermentation expertise. Theakston managing director Richard Bradbury added that the launch reflects the brewery’s long-standing focus on balancing heritage with innovation, while expanding its presence in the growing alcohol-free category following the success of Nowt Peculier 0.0%.
Traces Vita Spritz

Better-for-you drinks brand Traces has expanded its RTD range with the launch of Vita Spritz, which it claims is Europe’s first alcoholic spritz to combine alcohol with added vitamins and minerals.
The 5.5% ABV canned cocktail blends blackberry and açaí flavours with B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium and zinc, targeting consumers looking for lighter drinking options with functional credentials.
Containing 88 calories and 1.5g of sugar per 250ml can, Vita Spritz is positioned at the intersection of the growing RTD and functional drinks categories. The launch reflects continued consumer demand for products that offer reduced sugar and calorie content, while also tapping into the popularity of functional ingredients, a trend that has so far been largely concentrated within the no- and low-alcohol sector.
The new product joins Traces’ existing range of canned cocktails, including Hugo Spritz and Paloma Spritz, both of which contain 80 calories and no sugar. Founded by DrinkWell creator Tom Bell, Traces was established to provide consumers with lower-calorie and lower-sugar alcohol options without compromising on taste.
Classy Cocktails Spicy

Classy Cocktails has expanded its ready-to-drink range with the launch of Spicy Tropical Tommy’s, a new canned cocktail developed by master mixologist Patrick Pistolesi and featuring Cointreau Spicy.
The product is the first RTD cocktail to use the recently launched expression from the French liqueur brand, bringing the growing consumer interest in spicy flavour profiles into the convenience cocktail category.
The cocktail reinterprets the classic Tommy’s Margarita with a tropical and spicy twist, combining pineapple flavours, tequila and Cointreau Spicy. The orange liqueur is infused with Bird’s Eye chilli pepper, natural jalapeño flavouring and cucumber notes, creating a balance of citrus freshness and warming heat. According to the company, the drink is designed to offer a more contemporary flavour experience while maintaining broad consumer appeal.
The launch reflects wider demand for spicy drinks across the beverage sector, with research cited by the company showing that 76% of consumers choose spicy flavours at least occasionally and almost two-thirds prefer a moderate level of heat that enhances rather than dominates flavour. Classy Cocktails says the product is aimed at consumers seeking more adventurous RTD options during social and outdoor occasions.

-196 Green Tea

Japanese-inspired RTD brand -196 Vodka Seltzer has expanded its portfolio with the launch of a new Green Tea Variety Pack, tapping into continued growth in hard tea and non-carbonated ready-to-drink beverages.
The new US range combines real green tea with the fruit flavours that have become central to the brand’s proposition, offering consumers an alternative to traditional sparkling RTDs.
The variety pack contains four flavours: Peach Green Tea, Lemon Green Tea, Strawberry Green Tea and Yuzu Green Tea. Each product is non-carbonated, contains no sugar and delivers 90 calories per can, positioning the range within the better-for-you segment of the RTD category. The launch reflects increasing consumer interest in lighter, lower-calorie alcoholic drinks and the growing popularity of tea-based alcohol formats, particularly among consumers seeking alternatives to beer, cider and sparkling cocktails.
According to the company, the new products are rooted in the brand’s Japanese heritage while bringing a different format to the RTD market. The use of real green tea and the absence of carbonation are intended to create a smoother drinking experience, helping the range stand out in an increasingly crowded category.
The Green Tea Variety Pack is available now across the US with a suggested retail price of $19.99 for an eight-can pack.
Bolle Sauvignon

Non-alcoholic wine producer Bolle has expanded its still wine range with the launch of Bolle Sauvignon Blanc, strengthening its portfolio as demand for premium alcohol-free wine continues to grow.
The addition joins the brand’s sparkling wines, Chardonnay and Chardonnay Reserve, and is aimed at consumers seeking sophisticated non-alcoholic alternatives without sacrificing varietal character or drinking experience.
Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, the wine offers notes of crisp apple, pear and passionfruit on the nose, alongside hints of fresh-cut grass. On the palate, it delivers a medium-dry style with lively acidity and a balanced mouthfeel. Bolle positions the launch as a versatile alcohol-free white wine suited to a range of drinking occasions, from at-home consumption to hospitality settings, where demand for premium moderation options continues to increase.
The company says it differentiates itself through a patent-pending production process that makes Bolle the world’s only twice-fermented non-alcoholic wine. Rather than relying on added sugars, flavourings, aromas or glycerine after dealcoholisation, the brand focuses on fermentation techniques designed to preserve structure, complexity and mouthfeel while remaining true to the wine’s varietal character and origin.
According to CEO Gary Read, the launch reflects growing consumer interest in premium non-alcoholic wines that retain the rituals and enjoyment associated with traditional wine. He said the company’s focus remains on creating products chosen for their quality and taste in their own right, rather than as a compromise.
Reserva Mole
Reserva de la Familia Tequila by Jose Cuervo has unveiled Private Cask Collection Edition No. 2: Mole Cask, which it describes as the world’s first tequila finished in mole-seasoned barrels.
The limited-edition Añejo aims to bring together two of Mexico’s most iconic culinary traditions, tequila and mole, as the super-premium spirits category continues to explore innovative maturation and finishing techniques.
Produced in small batches at La Rojeña distillery, the tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave before being aged in new American and French oak barrels. It is then finished for three to four months in medium-toast American oak barrels seasoned with red Oaxaca mole.
The process is designed to introduce notes associated with mole, including cacao, dried fruit, spice and pepper, while maintaining the agave-forward character of the spirit.
According to the brand, the resulting liquid offers aromas of cacao, dried fruit, cinnamon, peanuts and almonds, alongside a balance of sweet oak and spice on the palate.
Mole Cask is available for pre-order now and will roll out to selected US retailers in September with a suggested retail price of $120 for a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV.
Wildwonder Apple

Functional sparkling drinks brand Wildwonder has expanded its portfolio with the launch of Apple Yuzu, a new prebiotic and probiotic beverage that combines Honeycrisp apple, Japanese yuzu and shiso leaf.
The flavour joins the brand’s growing range of gut-health-focused drinks and arrives as demand continues to grow for functional beverages that pair digestive wellness benefits with globally inspired ingredients.
Apple Yuzu blends orchard apple flavours with the floral, citrus character of yuzu and herbal notes from shiso leaf, an ingredient long used in Japanese cuisine and traditional herbal practices. Each can contains one billion live probiotics and 5g of prebiotic fibre from plant sources, while remaining USDA Organic, caffeine-free and low in calories. The product contains 40 calories and 6g of sugar per can, positioning it within the better-for-you soft drinks segment.
Founder and CEO Rosa Li said the new flavour reflects the brand’s botanical-first formulation approach, combining familiar fruit flavours with ingredients rooted in Asian culinary traditions. The launch builds on Wildwonder’s focus on digestive health and functional refreshment, while introducing consumers to ingredients such as yuzu and shiso through a more accessible flavour profile.
