From premium spirits to functional coffee, brands are targeting convenience, quality and changing consumption occasions with their latest launches

Brands across the beverage industry are using premiumisation, convenience and occasion-led innovation to attract consumers in an increasingly competitive market. Limited editions, new formats and seasonal releases are helping producers create excitement and drive trial across a range of categories.

Health-conscious consumption trends continue to influence product development, particularly in soft drinks and functional beverages, where reduced sugar, clean-label ingredients and simple propositions remain key. At the same time, wine, beer and spirits brands are highlighting provenance, craftsmanship and unique production methods to strengthen their premium credentials and appeal to consumers seeking more distinctive drinking experiences.

Bandero Premium Tequila has expanded into the aged tequila category with the launch of Bandero Reposado, its first barrel-aged expression. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave, the tequila is matured for just under 12 months in Hungarian, French and American white oak barrels before being blended by master distiller Lee Palleschi. The three-year development process was designed to balance savoury spice notes from the European oak with vanilla and caramel characteristics from the American oak.

Produced in small batches of around 26 barrels, the additive-free tequila is bottled at 40% ABV and joins the brand’s existing Blanco and coffee-infused Bandero Café expressions. Bandero Reposado is now available through selected retailers, with wider distribution planned later in the year.

Chapel Down has unveiled Kit’s Coty Blanc de Noirs 2021, the first single-vineyard Blanc de Noirs in its luxury Kit’s Coty collection and what the English wine producer describes as its most significant product launch in a decade.

Made exclusively from hand-picked Pinot Noir grown at the Kit’s Coty vineyard on the Kent Downs, the sparkling wine has been produced in a limited run of just 1,100 bottles and joins the brand’s portfolio of premium single-vineyard wines.

Wild fermented in oak and aged on lees for four years before release, the 2021 vintage offers strawberry and raspberry notes alongside hints of vanilla and a creamy finish.

According to head winemaker Josh Donaghay-Spire, the release was created to showcase a different expression of the vineyard and the quality potential of English Pinot Noir.

Theakston’s Brewery has expanded its ale portfolio with the launch of Special Reserve, a new 6.5% ABV beer and the strongest ale in the Masham brewer’s range. Rolling out in 500ml bottles, the product will debut with a national listing in Morrisons, with Waitrose set to follow in November as the brewery looks to strengthen its presence in the off-trade.

Brewed using Fuggle hops, Special Reserve is described as a full-bodied traditional ale with subtle fruity notes. Theakston’s says the launch responds to renewed consumer interest in classic British ale styles with higher ABVs and richer flavour profiles. Chairman Simon Theakston said the new beer combines the brewery’s heritage and brewing expertise with evolving consumer demand for more distinctive premium ales.

Eden Mill has expanded its seasonal spirits portfolio with the launch of Winter in St Andrews, a limited-edition gin designed specifically for Negroni serves. Following the release of Summer in St Andrews earlier this year, the new expression combines blood orange, cinnamon and clove to create a winter-inspired flavour profile. Production has been capped at just 500 bottles, reinforcing the small-batch, seasonal positioning of the range.

The distillery is targeting the growing aperitivo and cocktail occasion, recommending the gin as the base for a festive Negroni made with equal parts gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. Senior Brand Manager Hamish Maclean said the launch builds on consumer demand for seasonal releases that capture different moments in St Andrews, with the flavour profile developed to offer a warmer, rounder take on the classic cocktail serve.

Priced at £32, Winter in St Andrews is available from Eden Mill’s distillery, through its website and via selected specialist retailers in St Andrews.

Aspen Vodka has expanded its packaging line-up with the launch of a new 375ml bottle, positioned for hotel minibars, travel occasions and smaller at-home serves. The mid-sized format joins the brand’s existing 1L, 750ml and 50ml offerings, and is rolling out across retail and hospitality channels in the US.

Produced at a carbon-negative distillery in Aspen, Colorado, the vodka is made from Colorado red winter wheat and water sourced from the Roaring Fork River.

Aspen Vodka says it achieved triple-digit growth in 2025 and is on track for similar growth in 2026, despite declining US spirits volumes. The brand also claims to have been the best-selling spirit by volume at Yankee Stadium this season and has expanded partnerships across a number of major US sports teams. The new 375ml bottle is available through the brand’s website, selected retailers and hospitality venues nationwide.
