The functional beverage brand revealed that Christian Patiño Webb will take over as chief executive officer.
Founder, Ben Goodwin, will step into the role of Executive Chairman and Head of Innovation at the beverage brand.
The brand was founded by Goodwin in 2018 with the mission to reshape the US soda addiction with a healthier alternative.
It has been featured in the Times100s Most Influential Companies in 2024 and it is now in one in five households in the US.
In a Linkedin announcement the company said that Olipop continues to grow in “scale, complexity, and reach” with the appointment of Webb, who has previously worked at Unilever and most recently for Electrolit, the hydration beverage brand, as CEO “marking an important moment in this evolution.”
He will oversee business operations, distribution, organisational execution, brand expansion, and strategic growth initiatives.
Goodwin will continue to shape the long-term vision of the company by driving breakthrough innovation.
“Working in close partnership, Ben will help guide business strategy, ensuring the company continues to build on the vision that created the functional soda category, while Christian brings the leadership expertise needed to expand its impact on consumers,” the statement said.
Goodwin said on Linkedin that he wants to focus his energy where he has the most passion and can contribute “most meaningfully.”
He described the move of bringing in a CEO as “adding horsepower rather than simply reallocating focus.”
He added: “Given all that, I decided it was time to explore bringing in a new CEO - someone who could be a powerhouse operator and help drive the business in a mission-aligned way, while allowing me to double down on innovation, research, culture, marketing, thought leadership, and strategy.”
Webb also commenting on Linkedin said: “What Ben Goodwin and the entire Olipop PBC team have built is extremely special. They created a category that has changed the way people think about soda while staying deeply committed to their mission, their consumers, and the values that have guided the company from the beginning.
“My focus will be on scaling the business for the future, investing in our people and capabilities, strengthening execution, and building on the strong foundation already in place. Most importantly, I’ll be listening, learning, and working alongside this exceptional team as we continue to expand OLIPOP’s impact on consumer health at scale.”
