BuzzBallz has had the biggest absolute gain of any brand in The Grocer’s Britain’s Biggest Alcohol Brands 2026 report.
The sister title to Beverage Daily has revealed that the RTD cocktails challenger, notable for its spherical packs, has added £73m [NIQ 52 w/e 18 April 2026] amid a boom for RTDs. It has grown volumes by 952% which is the fastest gain while value sales are up 827%.
The brand was founded in the US in 2009 by teacher Merrilee Kick with BuzzBallz making its UK debut in summer 2022.
BuzzBallz has already become the Gen Z’s go to party drink recognised for its spherical containers and bolt colours and flavours.
Ahead an acquisition by spirits giant Sazerac in 2024, the brand is believed to have hit retail sales of around $200m. In the UK-alone the13.5 to 15% cocktails have recorded off-sales of £24.6m (NIQ 52 week 6 September 2025) – a volume growth of 800%.
In the UK the brand has gained traction last year via independents and social media even though it is now listed in supermarket chains Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Morrisons, Waitrose and Co-op.
“It’s been a huge year for BuzzBallz. We’ve loved seeing more and more consumers discover the brand, whether through friends, social media or spotting BuzzBallz out and about,” said Jess Scheerhorn, the brand’s president.
According to The Grocer eye-catching marketing has played a part in generating buzz about the RTD challenger, while NPD has also been key to BuzzBallz’s growth.
The report also revealed that booze brands have had a difficult year.
It revealed that almost two-thirds (63%) of Britain’s 100 biggest alcohol brands sold less volume over the past year, with combined value losses just shy of £100m [NIQ 52 w/e 18 April 2026].
