We take a look at some of the companies welcoming new faces to top jobs.
C.D. Glin – who is currently serving as Vice President of the PepsiCo Foundation and Global Head of Philanthropy for PepsiCo – will become President of the PepsiCo Foundation.
He will remain as Global Head of Philanthropy for PepsiCo and will report to Roberto Azevedo, Chairman of the PepsiCo Foundation and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for PepsiCo.
As President of the PepsiCo Foundation, Glin is stepping into a leadership role within the PepsiCo Foundation's Board of Directors. He will continue to oversee the Foundation's strategic direction towards a more sustainable food system through the PepsiCo Foundation's three core pillars: Food Security, Safe Water Access and Economic Opportunity.
Glin joined the PepsiCo Foundation in 2021 and has been instrumental in the launch and expansion of a variety of global PepsiCo Foundation philanthropic initiatives including:
- The Black Restaurant Accelerator program and the IMPACTO Hispanic Business Accelerator - two combined initiatives totaling $20 million dollars and providing 1,000 Black and Hispanic restaurant and foodservice owners - with capital, technical assistance, and mentorship services over five years.
- Expansion of the $18.2m ‘She Feeds the World’ initiative in partnership with CARE, working directly with women farmers in Peru, Egypt, Uganda and expanding to Thailand and Vietnam.
The South African Liquor Brandowners Association (SALBA), whose members includes major alcohol manufacturers Distell, Heineken, Diageo, Pernod Ricard and DGB, has extended Pamela Nkuna’s term of office as its Chairperson.
Pamela is also Director of Corporate Affairs (SA and Sub Saharan Africa) at Pernod Ricard and has over ten years of experience in the alcohol industry, focusing on regulatory matters and stakeholder engagement at national government and provincial levels. She has worked with local, civil society and NGOs. During her career in the alcohol industry, much of her focus has been on matters related to Harm Reduction programmes. She has also been at the forefront of driving initiatives to eradicate the illicit trade industry.
Pamela sits on the board of Aware.org, a non-profit organisation that works in partnership with the alcohol industry to develop a culture of responsible alcohol usage in South Africa through programmes aimed at curbing the problems caused by irresponsible consumption.
The Worldwide Brewing Alliance (WBA) has appointed Emma McClarkin as the new Chair.
McClarkin currently serves as the Chief Executive of the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA). She has now begun a two-year term at WBA, filling the role left vacant by Jim McGreevy, the Beer Institute’s (USA) former President and CEO and the WBA’s former Chair.
Prior to joining the BBPA in 2019, McClarkin served as a British Member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands for 10 years. In that time, she also served as Vice President of the European Parliament Beer Club. She has also held posts including Chairman of the Commonwealth Forum and Director of Global Policy for the Sports Integrity Global Alliance and is currently a Non-Executive Director of The Federation Against Copyright Theft, Hampshire Cricket and the Ivors Academy, and is a Trusted Advisor to the Department of International Trade. In 2022, Emma received an OBE for services to the UK’s beer and pub industry throughout the pandemic.
Since her appointment at BBPA, she has helped secure support for brewers and pubs as they navigated the COVID-19 pandemic as well as major changes to the UK excise duty regime to incentivize the consumption of lower strength drinks.
The WBA is a global community of brewers and brewing trade associations from around the world, representing more than 80% of global beer production.
Botanically brewed soft drinks and mixers brand, Fentimans, has appointed Jayne Andrews as its new Marketing Director.
Bringing 25-years’ experience to the role, Andrews will lead the Fentimans marketing team on raising brand awareness and driving innovative trial and purchase strategies, whilst monitoring new market trends and evolving consumer expectations.
Jayne brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked with household brands within the grocery, telecommunications, health and technology industries, and more recently led brand marketing for one of the world’s largest travel companies, Carnival Cruise Line.
Andrews was named Travel Marketer of the Year in 2017 following her contribution to the launch of Carnival Cruise Line across Australia and New Zealand, and then went on to relaunch the brand in the US, following the pandemic. She has also held positions of client service director at a leading social media and influencer agency, and marketing director for a fast-growing online dating business.
UK-headquartered Fentimans distributes products in Europe, the US, Canada and Australia.
The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) has appointed former Black Sheep Chairman Andy Slee as its new Chief Executive.
SIBA represents independent British brewers: noting its job is to ‘help create an environment in which all can thrive in what are very challenging times, and ensure that local beer is a vibrant and growing part of the British beer landscape’.
With leadership experience at independent brewery Black Sheep, as a Non-Executive Director at Titanic Brewery, as well as prior positions at Coca Cola, Punch Taverns and Bass, Andy brings with him a breadth of top-level lobbying, commercial and membership experience to the role – as well as a personal passion for local independent beer.
Andy Slee will begin as Chief Executive on the 1st of January 2023, leading the organisation into the new year.
Keurig Dr Pepper has reappointed Bob Gamgort as CEO: after he stepped down in July.
KDP announced earlier this month that Ozan Dokmecioglu, who had taken over as CEO, agreed to resign ‘due to violations of the company’s Code of Conduct that were unrelated to strategy, operations or financial reporting’.
