Kendamil launches ‘Ready to Feed’ baby milk

The product, available on the Kendamil website, costs £23.95 for 24 bottles.

oct new kendamil

The product’s shelf-life is 12 months.

Kendamil’s ‘Ready to Feed’ formula comprises of natural cow’s milk mixed with essential acids. It is rich in algal oil — a pure marine algae substitute for fish oil that includes omega-3 fatty acids like DHA.

CEO and founder of Kendamil, Ross McMahon, said, “Parents associate Kendamil with quality and sustainability, so have long asked us to develop a ‘Ready to Feed’ offering. We’re proud to answer this need with a UK-first — a ‘Ready to Feed’ baby milk that’s uniquely free from fish oil and palm oil, unlike other leading formula brands. Because we won’t compromise our formulations or jeopardize the environment to cut costs.

“We support the nation’s mums and dads at every step of their parenting journey. As parents ourselves, we recognise that a child’s early years are precious so our ‘Ready to Feed’ milk gives you time back to spend nurturing the next generation.”

Cave Aged Cheddar debuts in Australia

Mayers Fine Food, in partnership with Somerdale International, exporter of British cheese, is launching a new ‘Westminster Cave Aged Cheddar’ developed specifically for the Australian market.

oct new westminster

The strong farmhouse Cheddar is matured 200 feet underground in the Wookey Hole Caves in the Somerset Mendip Hills, a few miles away from the village of Cheddar itself. The naturally constant temperature and humidity of the caves offer ideal conditions for storing and maturing Cheddar. The porous nature of the traditionally cloth bound cheese enables it to take on a big and well-rounded flavor complemented by distinctive earthy and nutty notes from the surrounding atmosphere.

The Westminster range is sold in more than 250 independent delis across the country.

Available from this November, the new Westminster Cave Aged Cheddar will come in a 150g retail pre-pack format in cases of 10, with an RRP of A$6.00 per pack.

Blair Mayer of Mayers Fine Food said, “Our new Westminster Cave Aged Cheddar harnesses the very best of English cheese making tradition and will provide a real point of difference and interest on the cheese fixture.

“In doing so, it will complement and enhance our increasingly successful Westminster branded range that is specially selected to tantalize the taste buds and be perfect for those cheese lovers looking for the authentic English cheddar experience.”

oct new mexicana

The Ilchester Vegan Festive Selection launched in the UK last Christmas in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and The Vegan Kind Supermarket, and will be stocking the plant-based cheeze selection again this Christmas.

Lisa Harrison, senior brand manager for Mexicana and Ilchester, said, "Applewood Vegan launched in a number of stores across Canada last year, including Denningers Foods of the World, which has six stores in Ontario, Pusateri's Fine Foods, which has five shops in Toronto; Longos, a 36-store food retailer in Toronto; and Loblaws, which operates more than 2,400 stores across Canada.

"This was our first international order for Applewood Vegan, which was our first-ever plant-based cheeze. Sales have proved really strong and its presence in Canada has helped to raise the profile of the other vegan products in the Norseland family, hence the significant order for Mexicana Vegan, which will be launching into stores across Canada very soon. These include three Denniger Foods of the World, 19 Longos shops, nine Choices stores, two Metro Quebec shops and 46 independent delis, markets and stores across the country.

"And our Dubai order is our first one for our Ilchester Vegan range and we are hopeful that Carrefour stocking the Ilchester Vegan Festive Selection will be the first step in the right direction of securing all-year-round listings in the Middle East for our extensive vegan range."

A new Ilchester dairy cheese for the festive season is the Ilchester Cheddar Cheese with Chilli and Lime, which launched in 413 Tesco stores and will be an all year-round listing.

Ilchester Mature Cheddar with Caramelised Onion and Port Wine will be rolled out in 587 Tesco Stores from November 29 to January 6.

Harrison said, "With the pandemic forcing many people to cancel their Christmas plans last year, Christmas 2021 is set to be a big celebration as the nation will be able to get together with their friends and families to party.

"Our seasonal cheeses are always popular and we are really keen to offer cheeses that reflect seasonal flavors as well as cheeses that are versatile for different dishes or occasions. Our Chilli and Lime cheese brings the heat that so many cheese lovers adore these days combined with the freshness and zingy taste of lime. It's a cheese that can add a bit of spice to dishes but can also work well as a standalone cheese on a cheeseboard.

"Our Ilchester Caramelised Onion and Port Wine Mature Cheddar Cheese really encapsulates the flavours of winter and Christmas. Everybody loves a glass of port at Christmas and the caramelised onion adds a delicious sweetness to perfectly complement the cheddar."

The Ilchester Cheddar Cheese with Chilli and Lime has an RRP of £2.20 for a 200g wedge. The Ilchester Mature Cheddar with Caramelised Onion and Wine Port has an RRP of £2.20 for a 175g wheeler.
