Jacobs Douwe Egberts acquires Nordic coffee business JOBmeal

Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Valedo Partners Fund II have announced that Jacobs Douwe Egberts will acquire the out-of-home coffee business JOBmeal in Sweden and Finland.

Founded in 2000, JOBmeal is a dedicated out-of-home coffee business headquartered in Stockholm, offering a range of office coffee solutions to customers in Sweden and Finland. It employs more than 370 associates in the Nordics.

George Schoof, General Manager JDE Professional Nordics, said: “The addition of JOBmeal to our Nordic family will enable us to expand our reach inSweden and Finland.

“Together we will be better able to serve the evolving needs ofcustomers at all levels, through a truly Nordic footprint.”

JOBmeal primarily serves small and medium businesses; and says that becoming part of JDE will allow it to give consumers access to JDE brands such as Gevalia, Piazza D’Oro, L’Or and Pickwick.

Subject to pre-closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close during Q4 2018.

Last week Italian coffee company Lavazza acquired Mars’ coffee business,​ which specialises in coffee machines and systems for the workplace, in a deal covering North America, Germany, the UK, France, Canada and Japan.
