Pretium Packaging has acquired Cox Container, which manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) containers for food, beverage, dairy and industrial applications.

It marks the fifth acquisition Pretium has made in the past four years increasing its manufacturing locations to 17.

Paul Kayser, president/CEO, Pretium, said Cox Container, based in Alabama, US, is situated on 13 acres, which makes it ideal for further expansion and it is currently looking to acquire other companies to its portfolio.

The acquisition brings additional HDPE manufacturing capability to Pretium and gives us a strategic foothold in the Southeast. We will now be able to capitalize on the strong growth Cox has experienced over the past couple of years to better serve our combined customers,” he added.

Ken Cox, president, Cox Container, under the new ownership, it will be able to expand its portfolio by leveraging Pretium’s PET capabilities, as well as a manufacturing footprint across North America.

Pretium Packaging manufacturers plastic containers and closures for the food, specialty beverage, household and industrial cleaner, sports nutrition and health, and beauty product industries.

It manufactures approximately two billion PET and HDPE containers annually from 17 locations across the US and Canada for more than 700 customers.
