Amber Beverage Group is to acquire a majority share in Think Spirits Australia, one of the largest independent spirits distributors in Australia.

Founded in 2004, Think Spirits is based in Sydney and has a focus on building premium brands. Patrick Borg, founder and managing director, will remain in the business and no operational changes are planned.

Headquarted in Luxembourg, Amber Beverage Group is a producer, distributor, logistics provider and retailer of alcoholic beverages.  It owns over 130 beverage brands across spirits and wine categories, with a particular focus on vodka, bitters, brandy, tequila and sparkling wine production.

ABG employs over 2,200 employees and distributes brands such as Riga Black Balsam, Moskovskaya vodka, Rooster Rojo tequila and Cosmopolitan Diva to more than 70 markets. It has production and distribution companies in Russia, Mexico, the UK and the Baltics, its historical home.

Seymour Ferreira, CEO, ABG, said: “I am certain that the addition of Think Spirits will enable us to accelerate our drive to build a global platform for our brands.”

The acquisition is due to be completed in May 2018.
