Constantia Flexibles meets demand for coffee & dairy packaging in Russia

Constantia Flexibles Group has responded to a growing demand in domestic food packaging by installing a laminating machine at its factory in Timashevsk, Russia, for packaging coffee, dairy and processed food.

Its solvent triplex laminator was inaugurated this month to commemorate the 12th​ anniversary of Constantia Kuban, the Russian subsidiary of Constantia Flexibles.

60 million meters

With an annual capacity of 60 million meters, the laminating machine can process a range of materials and material thicknesses including PET, OPP, Paper, Aluminum and CPP Laminates.

This important investment will serve our customers with high-quality packaging for coffee, dairy and processed food industries and underlines our credentials as a key player in the local Russian market, which is starting to rebound​,” said Friedrich Humer, executive VP, Food CAA (Commonwealth of Independent States, Africa and Asia) division, Constantia Flexibles.

The machine can simultaneously glue three rolls of different types of material, using glues with a wide grammage range.

Constantia Kuban was formerly known as Åkerlund & Rausing Kuban until it changed its name in 2006. It is 68km from the capital of Kuban, Krasnodar.

The plant employs ​about 270 people and produces packaging material for dairy and confectionery, among others.

Film Laminates

Constantia Flexibles is based in Vienna, Austria. It opened a Competence Center​ for Polymer Films and Film Laminates at the Food Division’s Constantia Hueck Folien site in Weiden, Germany, in 2015 and a Competence Center for Aluminum Foil and Foil Laminates at its Constantia Teich site in 2012.

The company has 55 production locations across 24 countries worldwide.
