Despite a strike affecting Lufthansa flights, trade visitors from 132 countries made it to Brau Beviale in Nuremberg last week.

More than 37,000 visitors attended the show, with 41% of those international.

The show welcomed 1,083 exhibitors, which included return attendees as well as newcomers. Exhibitors also ranged from multinational companies to small and medium sized companies.

Brau Beviale covers all aspects of the beverage industry process chain: raw materials, technologies, logistics and marketing.

Focus on craft

“The trend towards craft-brewed beverages is continuing unbroken and is attracting increasing attention - we are of course also feeling that here,” said Andrea Kalrait, exhibitions director. “Trade visitors came to us from a total of 132 countries – and they did so despite the flight attendants’ strike at Lufthansa!”

Guests came mainly from Germany as well as Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain.

Exhibitors came from 49 countries, with around half of the total from Germany but also with notable attendances from Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland.

The Independent Flight Attendants Union held a strike over seven days last week, which resulted in Lufthansa cancelling around 4,700 flights and affecting around 550,000 passengers.

Brau Beviale returns to Nuremberg on November 8-10, 2016.
