Barry-Wehmiller to acquire Bielomatik paper processing group

Barry‐Wehmiller (BW) has agreed to acquire the Bielomatik group associated with the paper processing product line of Bielomatik Leuze, with the sale expected to be completed in the coming months.

Bielomatik’s paper processing product line that cuts, binds, finishes and wraps paper will merge with BW Papersystems, headquartered in the US.

BW Papersystems is a global supplier to the paper and board sheeting; paper converting; and corrugating industries. It incorporates the brands; Will‐Pemco, MarquipWardUnited, SHM, Wrapmatic, Kugler‐Womako and Curioni.

Tony Crofts, sales and marketing director, HayssenSandiacre, part of the Barry-Wehmiller Group told FoodProductionDaily, BW is in an exciting phase of growth both organic and through acquisition.

We have an outstanding history of acquiring businesses and successfully integrating them into the BW family as well as designing new technologies to meet the demands of our global market​,” he added.

Wrapping, stacking & packing

Bielomatik is globally known for its paper processing equipment including sheeters, and machines for wrapping, stacking and packing.

Its paper processing group also manufactures stationery and binding machines for the production of exercise books, in schools and businesses.

BW Papersystems offers technology for folio, cut size and digital sheeting and packaging machines, plus stationery, passport production and specialized paper converting applications.

It has manufacturing plants in the US and Europe, and parts and service centers in the US, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Singapore and Shanghai.

BW Papersystems, with Bielomatik, will employ over 1,600 staff worldwide and is expected to generate revenue in excess of $400 million.
