Fox has launched Duff Beer, a beverage already well-known as the fictional beer from The Simpsons. However, plans for its roll-out into South America and Europe are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Although numerous other companies have launched ‘Duff Beer’ in the past, Fox – who owns the rights to the popular TV show – has stamped down on such producers.

Now, Fox has launched Duff Beer in Chile this month, helping it battle imitations.

The beer is described as a premium lager with a deep golden color, hint of fruit, and caramel aroma.

Fox plans to roll the beer out in South America and Europe in the coming months. Fox told BeverageDaily.com that more information about the rollout would be made available in the near future.

Duff Beer is already available in Universal’s  US theme parks. However, Fox has previously chosen not to roll the beer out over fears it may attract controversy, given The Simpson’s popularity with children.

However, Fox says the beer now has a wider audience, and, given its longevity, an older one.

The Simpsons was first aired in 1989 and is the longest-running scripted TV series.
