Nestle Waters sharpens French focus with Plancoet sale
Nestle Waters has sold its last regional French water brand Plancoet to Ogeu Pyrenees as the Perrier and Evian owner aims to focus more on its national and international brands.

On December 30, Nestle sold the Brittany-based still mineral water brand to the Pyrénées-Atlantiques firm, and the transaction also includes the mineral water brand Sainte-Alix.
Nestle Waters external communications director, Frederique Henry, told BeverageDaily.com today that the company wanted to refocus on its national and international brands.

The sale has reportedly been welcomed at source in Sassay, since OGEU says it plans to invest to develop the brand, notably commercializing a carbonated variety in major supermarkets.

30 staff are employed at the production site at Plancoet (Côtes-d'Armor), which produces 15m bottles per year. French media reports suggest that brand sales total €8.2m/year.
