Færch Plast’s owners are investigating a possible sale of the firm, according to the board of directors.

Færch Plast is a European supplier of plastic packaging for the food industry and supplied more than two billion units last year, produced at factories in Holstebro (Denmark), Durham (England) and Liberec (the Czech Republic).

Niels Kornerup, chairman of Færch Holding's board of directors, said during the past five years there have been significant investments in the business, boosting customer base and productivity.

"The A-shareholders have previously attempted to create a less complex ownership structure of Færch Plast as a basis of succession.

“However, as the shareholders could not support a new ownership structure and recognising the pending succession to sixth and seventh generation of the family, the board has found that it is its duty to investigate a potential sale of the company.”

Færch Plast's primary single raw material for its production is recycled plastic packaging, using more than 17,000 tonnes annually, with exports accounting for 90% of the output. The firm employs about 500 employees, more than half of them working in Denmark.
