The new CEO will oversea growth strategies for the Asia, Middle East and Africa region
PepsiCo has appointed a new chief executive officer for the Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region as it aims to bolster penetration in the region.

Sanjeev Chadha, who has worked for PepsiCo for 23 years and most recently served as the AMEA regional president, will be headquartered in the snack and beverage firm’s Dubai office.

The appointment is part of PepsiCo’s strategy to drive business more effectively in the region – from sales and marketing to innovation.

PepsiCo has long been focused on strengthening its Asia hold in particular.

In April, it struck a deal with market expansion specialist DKSH to target Southeast Asia for its Lay’s Stax, Doritos, Ruffles and Quaker brands, among others. Most recently, market-watchers in India now believe it is poised to make a bid for an Indian crisp manufacturer. The rumored move signals PepsiCo’s desire to really gain greater control of the snacks category in emerging Asian markets, the market analysts have said.
