Wild teams with Limkon for Turkish beverages venture
Wild said in a statement that the goal was to combine its flavours and compounds with Limkon’s concentrates and purees and to sell to high juice content beverage makers and other food industry customers.
Limkon close to raw materials
Fruit and vegetable concentrates and purees manufacturer Limkon was founded in 2007 and has a manufacturing plant in the Adana fruit-growing region. It is a subsidiary of Turkish conglomerate Limak.
“The fruit-processing company is not only located in outstanding proximity to raw materials, it also works with state-of-the-art technologies and has the highest quality standards,” said Wild.
“Furthermore, its site in southeastern Turkey is very logistically appealing due to its access to the Mediterranean via the ports in Mersin and Iskenderun.”
Turkish fruit crops
Wild chose Turkey as the country gradually grows its beverage consumption each year.
It added: “Turkey grows fruit crops of international significance, and the country is also an interesting sales market for beverages”
Wild’s Turkish subsidiary, Wild Turkey, has been in the market since 2004 and currently employs 20 people.
Wild has been supplying ingredients to Limak for the past several years.
Danone recently said it saw potential in the Turkish beverages market after acquiring a controlling stake in domestic bottled water firm Sirma in May this year.
