Molinari hopes Russia distribution deal will add zest to Limoncello

Italian spirits producer Molinari believes a new distribution deal will accelerate Russian sales of liqueur brand Limoncello di Capri.

Molinari said its partnership with Russia spirits distributor Roust - which already manages it Molinari Extra, Molinari Caffe brands - would lend the brand new marketing and sales support in a growing market.

Oleg Kirillin, CEO of Roust, said: ”We are delighted to expand our partnership with Molinari and have high expectations for Limoncello di Capri in Russia. Roust has a solid reputation for creating entire new categories of premium spirits in Russia and building international brands into market leaders.

"In 2012, we established Molinari Sambuca as the number one sambuca in Russia, bringing the brand back to its previous leading position on the market. We are confident that the consolidation of Molinari’s premium alcoholic brands in the Roust portfolio will accelerate their growth."

Mario Molinari, a spokesman for Molinari, said: “In Roust, we have found a dedicated, long-term partner with one of the best track records for building international spirits brands in Russia...an important and growing market for Molinari."

Limoncello di Capri was created in the 19th century on the island of Capri by hotel owner Vincenza Canale. It is sold in 40+ global markets and is Italy's leading on-trade limoncello in sales terms.
