Octal is targeting new markets and geographies in what the firm described as a “well-planned four phase approach”.

Speaking to FoodProductionDaily.com at Emballage trade show in Paris, Joe Barenberg, chief operating officer of Octal, said the goal is to be the leading polyester packaging company in the world.

The firm, headquartered in Oman, manufactures polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin and sheet including DPET which it claims was the first and is the only direct-to-sheet polyester sheet worldwide.

Barenberg added the firm was targeting the modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) market for meat and cheese, the dairy market and specifically multi-packed yogurt and the consumer and personal care market.

South America, Africa, India, South East Asia and Australia and New Zealand are new geographies that Octal is placing key emphasis on, he concluded.
