Innovation is allowing APPE to push through tough European economic times, according to the firm.

At Emballage Jean-Marc Rostagno, managing director business unit continental Europe at APPE, told FoodProductionDaily.com about the DeepGrip bottle, ActivSeal and hot fill pasteurisation jars.

He said the DeepGrip PET bottle is unique in Europe with a deep recess each side that creates an integral handle for enhanced convenience for the dairy and juice markets.

ActivSeal for fruit juice has no barrier in the bottle combines protection against oxygen ingress and vitamin C loss with improved clarity compared to traditional barrier materials.

The hot fill pasteurisation PET jar can withstand temperatures of 95 degrees and is the result of a partnership with Nissei ASB GmbH (Europe).
