JBT FoodTech signs two deals within a week
JBT FoodTech has signed contracts for a fruit processing project and sterilization technology installation in the Americas totalling $9m.

The $4m contract for fruit processing is with Almacenes de Jugos de Citricos de Mexico, SAPI de CV, which is a new entrant into the Mexican fruit processing industry and is expected to be completed in Q2 2013.

JBT FoodTech will supply and integrate a turn-key fruit processing solution into a new Papantla, Veracruz, Mexico-based facility.

The firm said the project is an excellent example of its commitment to the Mexico fruit and juice industry.

The $5m deal to supply and install two rotary sterilizer lines and an Automatic Batch Retort System to enable the processing of vegetable products in cans and pouches for a North American-based processor aims to be completed in Q3 2013.

JBT FoodTech added that order demonstrates that the pouch market segment as an innovation packaging is becoming more widely accepted.
