PepsiCo boosts Japanese Pepsi with extra caffeine
PepsiCo Japan launched of 'Pepsi Extra' as an addition to its Nex range in Japan on June 26, with the drink packed in 200ml cans and reformulated to feature added caffeine and increased sweetness.

PepsiCo Japan is marketing the small capacity can - pictured, released onto the market on June 26 - as being "perfect for waking up the sleepy"​ and for "going the extra mile when you want more".

Drinks giant PepsiCo also claims to have created a "new genre"​ for adults within cola drinks, with the release of Pepsi Black (pictured below) on June 19, ​which has 50% less sugar compared to regular Pepsi Cola, while it said the drink also had an enhanced aftertaste and an added lemon flavour.

Suntory Beverage and Food is PepsiCo's exclusive bottler, distributor and licensee in Japan.
