Carlsberg ups ownership of leading Belarus brewer
Carlsberg Group has increased its ownership stake in OJSC Olivaria Brewery – the third biggest brewer in Belarus.
Baltic Beverages Holding (BBH), which belongs to Carlsberg Group, increased its shareholding to 67.8 per cent having already upped its holding from 30 to 47 per cent last summer.
Carlsberg said the move makes Olivaria a full member of the Group and therefore gives the Belarus-based brewer greater access to its sales and marketing expertise and brewing technologies.
Olivaria employs around 475 people and produces 15 sorts of beer under brands such as “Alivaria”, “Brovar” and “Data 1864”.
