Wellmune rolls out into toddler drinks with Mead Johnson Nutrition
Biothera’s beta glucan branded Wellmune WGP ingredient is being used in toddler drinks in Thailand and Mexico by Mead Johnson Nutrition, the company has announced.
The ingredient – derived from the cell walls of a proprietary strain of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) via a patented manufacturing process – is a natural carbohydrate that activates key immune cells.
“Nothing is more important than the health of children, and we are very pleased that Mead Johnson has introduced Enfagrow Premium 3 with Beta Glucan in Mexico and Enfagrow A+ and Enfakid A+ with Beta Glucan in Mexico and Thailand,” said Richard Mueller, Biothera president and chief executive officer.
The ingredient is Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS), Halal, non-allergenic and GMO-free, and designed for a range of functional food, beverage and supplement applications.
