Gatorade drops Tiger Woods sports drink

PepsiCo brand Gatorade plans to drop its Tiger Woods-endorsed sports drink but says allegations about extramarital affairs were not to blame.

Gatorade said the decision to sacrifice Tiger Focus was made a few months ago to make room for a new range of products to be launched in 2010.

When Gatorade signed the golfer in 2008, Matt Knott, vice president of marketing, said: “Tiger Woods is known for revolutionizing the game of golf by introducing an unprecedented level of fitness, training and focus.”
