Biotek Ozone brings ozonated water system to UK
Biotek Ozone has brought its ozonated water systems to the UK and is in talks with major drinks manufacturers about using the product as a sanitizer and disinfectant in beverage plants.
Ozone dissolved in water is used to kill bacteria and parasites in food and beverage production but Biotek Ozone spokesperson Steve Brennan said traditional systems have often been impractical and awkward to operate.
Brennan said previous generations of systems demanded gas feeds, air dryers, air filters or compressors. But the Biotek systems, once installed, require minimal maintenance and rely only on a mains water feed and a power supply.
Biotek is marketing its sanitisation systems at the food and drink industry, as well as the catering sector. But so far, Brennan said the company has been in closest discussions with drinks companies, including Coca-Cola, which already uses ozone in some of its plants.
