Entitled 'Health and Indulgence', the conference will be held in Denmark 21-23 May and is expected to showcase ways of incorporating the two dominant trends in the sugar confectionery, chocolate and bakery sectors.
Healthy snacking has become a priority for consumers who are increasingly turning to low-fat, no-sugar and low-calorie options. Many manufacturers have responded by producing altered versions of core brands but genuine innovation in the form of completely new products has proved more unusual.
According to a statement from Danisco: "The seminar will illustrate how the company's extensive sugar confectionery, chocolate and fine bakery expertise can help manufacturers create healthy and indulgent products with exciting new tastes and textures."
The flavourings producer believes the healthy snacking sector is an extensive market yet to be fully exploited and has released a number of products within the health arena itself.
Last year, Danisco developed a range of trans-fat free emulsifier blends and has also produced a line of Litesse polydextorse and Lactitol products to help manufacturers create controlled calorie snacks.
