Ultrasonic sensors take the measure of fluids, liquids
gauge the amount of fluids or solids in containers.
Plants need accurate measures for gauging the amount of formulations are being mixed vats or holding tanks while being processed.
Scientific Technologies said its IRU-5110 series of self-contained ultrasonic sensors will work on solids or liquids and provide a sensing range from 76mm (3 in.) to 2000mm (79 in.).
The sensors can take level, volume, proximity and distance measurements of fluids and solids. They incorporate microprocessor technology that accommodates for environmental factors such as temperature change, waves on liquid, tank irregularities, agitators and humidity, among others.
Workers can make adjustments to the sensor via a computer USB interface using an special module, which is sold separately.
The sensors are 113.10mm by 76.20mm and are available in a variety of outputs with two programmable transistor trips.
