Oxysense to unveil innovations

Oxysense, the world leader in non-invasive oxygen measurement systemsfor the food and beverage industry, is to showcase a number of new technologies at the forthcoming Pack Expo.

One of the highlighted technologies will be the company's non-Invasive Method to Determine Oxygen. The award-winning and newly-launched OxySense 101 measures oxygen concentrations within containers, bottles and packages without puncturing or destroying the seal. The company claims that the equipment allows for multiple measurements to be made over time on the same package, producing more accurate results with fewer containers and at a lower cost. This criteria is said to make the equipment ideal for shelf-life studies.

Also on display will be the newly-announced OxySense PM200, a passive on-line monitoring system, which is said to eliminate the need for sample extraction in vacuum/gas-flushed MAP systems. The technology is capable of rapid and accurate measurements of oxygen concentration within the fill chamber of modified atmosphere packaging systems.

Oxysense will also be showing the OxyProbe, which is a new option designed for measuring oxygen in random samples from the production line or when non-invasive measurements are not suitable. Taking an accurate oxygen measurement is said to be fast and simple using the equipment - analysis can be made by pushing a needle into the package and pressing the capture button. The system does not extract any sample and measures oxygen directly in the package.

Based in Texas, US, OxySense​ technology aims to provide fast, accurate measurements that can be used for R&D, quality control and shelf life testing. One of the company's major claims is that it can provide information that cannot be obtained using other available technology, such as measuring oxygen permeation into individual sealed bottles or packages over time.

The company will be demonstrating the non-invasive oxygen measurement systems, at Pack Expo, to be held in Las Vegas, US, 13-15 October.
