Molson Canadian is introducing to the US market what it claims is the first beer bottle designed to 'talk for you'. The beer bottles feature an additional label on the base, aimed at starting conversations.

What the company calls Twin Label Technology, will feature some 80 different types of comment, aimed at invoking a host of different reactions to induce conversations in crowded bars. The labels will include such starters as "On The Rebound," "I See London, I See France," "I Just Want To Be Held," "Be Different. Say Yes," or the more direct, "Can I Get Your Number?"

"In bars and nightclubs all across America, everyday, young men and women engage each other in social situations. The thinking behind Twin Labels was to create a fun and clever tool to help men and women comfortably interact with one another," said Steve Breen, vice president of marketing for Molson USA.

Twin Labels is the first effort by a beer maker to recognise that their packaging can become a tool in the mating dance that inevitably occurs in nightclubs. "Each of the Twin Labels were designed to make it easier to have fun and meet people in bars. After all, that's why people go to them in the first place. Our job at Molson is to help them with this, and Twin Labels do so perfectly. Consumer reaction has been terrific," said Kurt Kane brand manager for Molson USA.

Molson USA is a unit of Molson, Canada's largest brewer. Founded in 1786, the company is North America's oldest beer producer and today supports a global brand presence.
