Dutch brewer Royal Grolsch hopes it can extend its in Australia's
burgeoning imported beer market through a new distribution
partnership in the country.
Dutch brewer Grolsch defended its stand against supermarket price
cuts on beer in the Netherlands, despite losing market share in the
first half of 2006.
Grolsch, the Dutch brewer, has begun boycotting a top supermarket
in the Netherlands after a dispute over beer prices, in a new
demonstration of supplier power.
Two fiercely independent brewers, Grolsch and Warsteiner, have
further extended their friendly partnership with an agreement
governing the marketing of Grolsch beer in Italy.
The launch of the new Zinniz fruit-flavoured beer brand helped
Grolsch lift its share of an otherwise sluggish Dutch market.
Strong performances in the UK also contributed to a 6.6 per cent
rise in turnover during the half.
