Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group has acquired Café Pacaembu, a traditional coffee company and brand in Brazil.

Massimo Zanetti – an Italian company which produces, processes and markets roasted coffee with distribution across 110 countries – has made the acquisition through its Brazilian subsidiary.

Café Pacaembu Ltda was founded in 1957, and its brand of the same name is described as ‘one of the most traditional brands’ in San Paolo. It was recently ranked number one for best ‘extra strong’ of Brazil. Café Pacaembu Ltda owns a plant for producing ground coffee and single serve coffee.

Brazil is the world’s largest producer and exporter of coffee and the second largest consumer market in the world – with high growth rates.

Massimo Zanetti, chairman and CEO, said: “The acquisition of Café Pacaembu which, with over 60 years of history, represents the traditional coffee of Brazil, will allow our Group to seize growth opportunities in Brazil.”

Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group’s revenues in Brazil in 2019 will be approximately 130m Reais ($31m) with this acquisition.
