Non-alcoholic spirits pioneer Seedlip is creating a new non-alcoholic aperitif brand, called Æcorn Aperitifs, which will launch in 2019.

Æcorn Aperitifs will launch with three varietals produced from English grapes and herbs, roots and bitter botanicals: promising ‘adult, complex options to enjoy with food.’

Seedlip says Æcorn will be the world's first range of non-alcoholic aperitifs.

Seedlip was launched by Ben Branson in the UK in November 2015 as a premium pioneer in the non-alcoholic spirits category, attracting investment from Diageo accelerator Distill Ventures in 2016. Having initially launched in Selfridges it is now available in 6,000 venues and retailers worldwide.

“Since launching Seedlip three years ago, the global traction has been both surreal and overwhelmingly positive,” said Branson. “We are still just scratching the surface of the category’s potential and Æcorn Aperitifs takes us another step closer to our aim of changing the way the world drinks.”

Æcorn Aperitifs will be led by Claire Warner, who joined Seedlip in January 2018 after holding the position of LVMH Head of Spirits.

“Since Seedlip’s launch, the world of non-alcoholic has shown itself to be dynamic and exciting, and we hope that the introduction of Æcorn Aperitifs will additionally help solve the dilemma of what to enjoy with food, when you’re notdrinking,” she said.

The word 'Æcorn' is an old English spelling of ‘acorn’. "Small and humble, the acorn has today come to
represent new beginnings, potential and perseverance," says the brand. "We would like to preserve and protect its use and symbolism."

Æcorn Aperitifs will be available to purchase at aecornaperitifs.com and at select locations from the start of 2019. Products will be available in 50cl bottles and in cases of six.
