Sparkling water brand SodaStream has introduced Fruit Drops - a range of bottled flavor essences - in US brick & mortar retailers, as the company aims to make sparkling water part of consumers' daily routines.

Fruit Drops are zero-calorie, preservative-free flavors that can to sparkling water made with a SodaStream machine.

“SodaStream is on a mission to make water exciting for millions of consumers around the world,” Matti Yahav, Soda Stream VP of global marketing, said.

“Fruit Drops is our first product that invites consumers to enhance ordinary water as well as fizzy water simply by adding a twist of naturally flavored fruit essence,”

The company expanded to in-store retail after it sold out of the unsweetened flavorings line when it first launched on the company’s website, demonstrating a strong consumer demand.

The product line is available in five flavors (lemon, lime, raspberry, orange, and mango) at major US retailers including Target and Bed Bath and Beyond for an SRP of $3.99 per 40mL bottle, which can flavor up to 80 servings of sparkling water.

The launch comes after SodaStream reported that its flavor unit sales decreased 7% year-over-year in Q317 to $5.1m, which was in line with expectations as the company repositions the brand around sparkling water and household penetration of SodaStream machines, CEO Daniel Burbaum said during its Q317 earnings call.
