Better Together
Alistair Darling, leader of the Better Together campaign, has said the 300 year-old union in the UK must remain.
“We think that the case for staying a part of the UK is a compelling one – and it is based around a simple notion: We have the best of both worlds in Scotland,” he said.
Being one nation, which was one of the biggest economies in the world, offered greater security for the whole of the UK, he added.
“Alex Salmond [leader of the Yes campaign] has based his entire case for breaking all of this up on endless assertions that somehow we can leave the UK, but keep all the benefits of membership. It isn’t credible. The facts don’t support it.”
