Fresh & Easy wants to be first with ‘fresh, unique and new’ products
Next up Fresh & Easy senior category manager Joe Ragusa told delegates that his chain is on the lookout for fresh, unique and new products, and wants to have exciting new products on its shelves before the competition.
It’s also expanding chiller space for beverages and keen to work with brands that can help it develop new innovative concepts to make its store environment (‘merging c-stores with natural foods) less 'sterile', said Ragusa.
And it’s moving away from the ‘one-stop-shop’ approach by previous owner Tesco, which failed to recognize that you “can’t serve the needs of every customer at every shop” and that Millennial shoppers like to shop at different stores for different things, he said.
