Philip Bromley – VIRUN
Born in 1973, Bromley is CEO of California biotech and life sciences firm VIRUN and an expert on non-polar agents used in foods, beverages and drugs for improved delivery in application and in vitro. As an inventor he is named on at least 34 international and US patents in these areas.
Since co-founding Virun in 2003, Bromley has helped the firm become a leader in delivery technology toward non-polar compounds and proteins for foods, beverages, supplements and drugs.
Bromley tells BeverageDaily.com that after the economic crash of 2007 he made a crucial strategy switch, investing biotechnology into food and beverage ingreidents, not by inventing new ingredients but delivering existing ingredients in hard-to-formulate applications.
He saw the potential of certain compounds, for example, omega-3, CoQ10, resveratrol, PQQ etc. that met FDA regulations, but were not then seen in food and beverage products, primarily because there was no method to stabilize these ingredients safe and effectively.
34 Patent and applications later, Virun has flourished and is currently riding-the-wave of Bromley’s vision to fortify the world with safe and effective healthy ingredients not typically found in food and beverage application.
In 2013 Virun opened a second facility in Florida and in 2014 will expand a third facility in Orange County, California.
Bromley’s other achievements include dozens of worldwide supplement, food and beverage applications currently sold by fortune 500 companies. Change Cola, CEO Jim Phillips is another 2013 personality, uses Virun’s patents and applications.
