EXCLUSIVE: 150TH ANNIVERSARY FACTORY VISIT
Sir Saint John Harmsworth's house
Dr. Louis Perrier bought the Les Bouillens spring in 1898, but wealthy Irish-born aristocrat Sir John Harmsworth (more of a businessman than Perrier, and a younger man) decided to buy the source off him in 1906, after the duo had become friends.
Harmsworth renamed the spring Source Perrier and marketed it in Britain as the ‘Champagne of mineral water’. Thereafter the legend was born. Harmsworth lived at this impressive country house, which now lies adjacent to the massive Perrier factory and was recently converted into a museum dedicated to the brand.
